Replacement Window Installation in St. Louis

Window Replacement

Our team at Greenmark Home Performance has been helping homeowners improve their property's comfort, appearance, and energy efficiency by replacing old and poorly insulated windows for years. Old window frames and glass can let both cool and warm air flow freely between the exterior and interior of your home. This can cause your homes furnace or air conditioning system to work much harder than normal to keep your home at a comfortable temperature. With replacement windows installed, you will get a properly sealed and insulated frame that reduces drafts and keeps your home at the proper temperature.

How to decide on what "brand" of Windows to Buy

Deciding on what brand of window to buy can seem a bit daunting for homeowners.  Since many contractors are limited to selling just the brand they are a dealer for often times homeowners will hear a lot of misinformation regarding various manufacturers.  In reality, there are many very good quality window brands.  At Greenmark we take a different approach when it comes to helping consumers make the right decision regarding the brand of window they ultimately select.  Since we are not a dealer for one specific brand we take the time to really assess each customer's specific needs, desires, and budget.  Some of the best-rated brands include Anderson, Pella, Ply-Gem, Marvin, Alside, Polaris, and Simonton.  These are just a few of the brands we install for our clients.

Since we are small family owned company we operate much differently than most bigger contractors in the St. Louis area.  First, all customers work directly with the owner, Mark Inman.  This eliminates the high-pressure sales tactics used by most firms.  Mark has a simple way of doing business that includes using a "consultation" approach.  It ensures a great end result where our customers receive accurate information that allows them to make highly informed decisions.

How much do new windows cost?

The cost will depend upon a few basic items including what brand of window you select, what features you choose and the volume of windows you are purchasing.  Most St. Louis area window contractors send out commissioned sales people.  They typically get a 10% commission on whatever they sell.  Since we don't have any commissioned sales staff we automatically start with a 10% lower cost on each window.  In addition, we don't use the high pressure tactics most firms do.  Typically, the quote given from most firms is very, very high and then in order to "get the deal sold on the spot" they will start backing down on the price - but, only if you buy today.  Unfortunately, here in 2018 this type of high pressure sales is still happening.  At Greenmark, you'll speak and visit with the owner directly and only once Mark really understands your needs will he provide you a written cost for the work and materials you select.  The price quoted will be our best price from the start.

Window Replacement and Installation

The process of replacement can be complicated for someone who has never had this kind of work done before on their home. To begin, accurate measurements will need to be made to be sure that the replacement materials aren't too big or small for the opening. This can be difficult to do in older homes since the openings might not necessarily be exactly rectangular.

Next, we will be sure that proper prep work is done inside your home to protect your other personal belongings from damage during the removal and installation work. Additionally, if the frame is going to be re-used, we will take great care to ensure that it stays in good shape during the removal process of the existing glass.

Then, we will begin installing the new frame or sash material. Rest assured knowing that our team strictly uses the best of the best when it comes to quality materials. This can help to provide your home with exceptional beauty, energy efficiency, and comfort for your family. Installation will also be weathertight, meaning that drafts will be eliminated and all gaps around the frame will be properly sealed.

The final step is to be sure that the trim work is done. This integrates your new sash or frame with the existing jamb.
